The Stallion Difference
Precise. Fast. Finished.
Permits are where many commercial projects lose time. An incomplete application can come back with comments, and every round of revisions pushes your opening date further out.
Stallion prepares complete, permit-ready drawings with our architects and engineers, submits the applications, answers the City’s questions and books the inspections. You get one point of contact and regular updates instead of a stack of forms.
Because we build what we permit, the drawings reflect how the job will actually be constructed — which means fewer surprises at inspection.

What’s the difference between a development permit and a building permit?
A development permit deals with how a property is used and how it looks — for example a change of use or exterior changes. A building permit covers the construction itself and its safety. Some projects need both; many interior renovations need only a building permit plus trade permits.
How long does it take to get a permit in Calgary?
Timelines vary with the City’s workload and the complexity of your project. Submitting a complete, well-prepared application is the best way to avoid back-and-forth, and that’s what we focus on.
Can I start construction before the permit is issued?
We don’t recommend it. Working without a permit can lead to stop-work orders, problems with insurance and trouble getting occupancy. We plan the schedule so permits are in hand when work begins.
Do I need drawings for a permit?
Most commercial building permits need drawings. Our architects and engineers prepare them as part of the project.
